The Student Hotel is “a comfortable, safe and fun place to sleep, eat, drink and make friends for life”. The Student Hotel biedt volledig ingerichte kamers voor internationale studenten voor een periode van 5-10 maanden (1 of 2 semesters). Vrijwel alle kamers bieden toegang tot een luxe gezamenlijke keuken of zijn voorzien van een eigen kitchenette. Daarnaast is een deel van de accommodatie gedurende het gehele jaar beschikbaar voor regulier hotelverblijf door toeristische en zakelijke hotelgasten. Een deel van deze kamers wordt aangeboden voor residential short stay; hierbij richten wij ons op expats en (young) executives voor een verblijf vanaf een week tot maximaal 12 maanden. In juli en augustus zijn vrijwel alle kamers beschikbaar voor reguliere hotelverhuur en short-stay.

In Augustus 2015 opent The Student Hotel Amsterdam City (570 kamers). Het is onze doelstelling om 10.000 kamers te exploiteren in Europese universiteitsteden in 2020. Job Description
As a Duty Management intern you will work closely with the team members in all operational departments. You will support these departments when and wherever necessary. Your job is to make sure that all operational processes within the hotel run as smoothly as possible to ensure a perfect stay for all our tribes. You will be responsible for dealing with guest complaints, checking rooms, basic maintenance duties, security checks and managing departments in the absence of a manager or supervisor. In short: a challenging position for an ambitious student!

These are your responsibilities:Be available to all departments for support and questions during shifts;Bring structure to the departments;Support the Front Office Team if necessary and replacing the management during absence;Solve small maintenance issues where needed;Conduct regular quality checks in public areas, outlets and rooms;Encourage our mentalities of co-living & co-working; Be on top of guest requests and make sure to have fun;Recognize commercial opportunities and connect them to our team members;Build and extend our network of ambassadors;Be first point of contact in case of any complaints from guests and proper follow up;Actively organize and co-host events for our tribes;Work on interesting & challenging projects supporting change in our hotel.

Job Requirements
Basic hotel/restaurant experience is a pre;Good organizational and interpersonal skills;Passionate about building communities;Excellent oral skills in English and Dutch;Creative mindset;Self-starter with hands-on mentality;Stress resistant: you maintain control and overview in a hectic environment;Drive to be successful.We offer:
