I'm a just bit over cautious with my stuff - so the laptop actually has a semi transparent cover since day one - feel free to take it out - do not expect any visible scratches apart from minor ones next to the visible USBc ports.
Key reason to sell it is that I mostly use it once or twice a week and it just seems to be a waste of a nice.
